I have the all-leather versions of these in a women's 10 WW and a black men's pair, and they fit fine (a little on the tight side). I bought this mesh pair in the men's 8 WW, and they are way too tight. I'm returning them.Usually, I take a 2W women's 10 and a men's 8, but in this case, I would need an 8.5 or 9, maybe 4E width. Note that I do have use orthotics and SuperFeet, so they might not be as tight on everyone. But even the 2E are not generously cut. If you have wide feet, as crazy as it sounds, you might need a 4E.These are pretty much indoor shoes only. If you hang out in gardens or woods or fields, etc.: The mesh grabs onto dirt and holds it. I have had to wash them twice, even though I have had them only 2 months or so. I don't usually wash sneakers if I can help it, but these are just gross, and they don't really come clean.I hoped the mesh would offer breathability for summer, but I'm buying the all-leather white 928s so I can clean them more easily.I gave the product 4 stars because the mistake was partly my fault. There are two versions of the 928. One is all leather and one is mesh. My experience is that even the all leather brown version which has a mesh tongue (isn't it strange that 1 of three color choices also has that difference) isn't as durable as the all leather. Also, while mesh might be great during summer it was 10 degrees here when the shoe arrived and I walk outside. However, I returned the product without any problem. I have used all leather 928s for a number of years. Started out when I weighed about 350 lbs. I now weigh a little less than 250. I roll out onto my right side on my right foot. Other shoes including Asics and even other new balance shoes do not hold up very well. 928s do the best job of supporting me and with wear. Some shoes don't even last 2 weeks so I continue to use these shoes - just the all leather versionI must admit I purchased these because they were heavily discounted and I needed a new pair of shoes. That being said, now that I have them I love them! These are great walking shoes. I have knee problems so I have to be careful with my walking, but these heel design on these gives a great cushion when you stride forward. I can walk a lot further than I could with my normal shoes with much less effect on my knees.FWIW, in the New Balance 608 series I usually were a size 4e, I got these in a 2e. While I don't have as much room for my toes these turned out to be the perfect width for walking, my feet can't slip around in the shoe but my toes don't fell cramped.I would add a warning, other than the front with the toes and the back of the heel, the sole is basically flat on the bottom. I would be concernet wearing them in snow and slush as I suspect they could become slippery. I haven't worn them in snow myself so others may give better feedback in this regard.I had to go up to a 6E with this shoe despite the fact that I'm currently wearing 4 other pairs of NB in 4E width. The 4E was way too narrow, hurt just putting them on. So I'm listing this as somewhat small as I've never had to buy a 6E before. So far the 6E has been very comfortable. As some others have noted, the soles are noisy. Has not been a big problem so far but might be objectionable if I wear them to work.So I love New Balance walking shoes. They have excellent support. Are built to walk. Last a long time. And feel like quality. I had this model in size 12.5 and regular width. I have put many many miles on them. But they always felt a touch narrow and a little short. So, when I need to get a new pair I bought the same model, but went up a half size and based on others reviews I got a one width size bigger. When these came I felt like I put on clown shoes!! They felt like they were 3 sizes too big!(long and wide) Doesn't make sense. Half size down is too small, half size up is too big???New Balance finds way to make these shoes 928v2 cheaper than my original 928. When placed side by side you can see the stiches are farther apart on the v2. The material feels and looks cheaper also. I bought these because of the sale price of $69.95. I only ware New Balance because of their wide sizes and my closet is full of them. In my opinion when you see a v2-v3 -v4 the only improvement they made was to their bottom line and not to the quality of the shoe. I still have an original 608 and several 608 v2 -v3 . The new versions should come with a tube of" shoo goo" because the shoe easily falls apart at the soul. I don't want to be so negative, but after so many years all I see is the quality heading south. The prior version of this shoe MW928 was much better than the new V2 version. I got a pair for $69.99 so I didn't mind trying them out but for $130+ I will look elsewhere for a more comfortable shoe. I have seen many similar reviews to mine. These shoe are not true to their width and are not nearly as cushioned. They do not seem as deep. My feet feel constricted and they are not swollen at all. By the way these shoes are well broken in and are still uncomfortable. New Balance needs to bring back the previous version of the MW928. I was also saddened to see the grey version go considering there were not many colors to start with. I am a 35 year old handicapped man with a hip condition that puts me in a lot of pain and the past version of this shoe helped. The current version of this shoe hurts my feet and feels like I'm walking on hard blocks. They don't feel as deep either and constrict my feet. Shame on you New Balance. Way to ruin a great product. I luckily have one last pair of the old version in a size 13 4E. I also think New Balance should bring back the previous version of the shoe and offer more colors like red, blue, orange, green, yellow, pink, purple, etc. maybe even a mid to hi-top version for younger people who don't have much choice in what shoes they can buy due to illness, being handicapped, or just having big-wide feet who want a comfortable shoe.
