When you have hammer toes and bunions this shoe is great for comfort and fit.The outside toes run into the Toebox.Support isn’t any good. If u add the inside support then u just lean the other wayI understand everyone is different though. Also surprised nobody else commented on digging into ankle. Is my shoe too big?I ordered a pair of these Orthofeet Bismark shoes for my elderly father. Due to a medical condition, my dad's feet recently grew in size due to water retention, so he outgrew his old pair of shoes. My dad is 86 and in assisted living and in a wheelchair. I tried taking my dad out to buy shoes, but that didn't go so well. He's a 9EEE, which is hard to find. Due to my dad's age, he only has energy to go to one store a day, so I tried buying a pair of shoes for him online via another merchant, but they didn't fit him so I had to return them. One of the community managers where my dad lives recommended these Bismark shoes for my dad. I ordered a pair via Amazon and they fit him well. He likes them and he is able to put them on himself without assistance from anyone. The price was higher than my dad is accustomed to paying for shoes, but you get what you pay for. My dad now has a quality pair of shoes that can expand if he retains more water in his feet and they're comfortable. I am thinking of ordering a pair for myself.I'll make this short. These shoes looks nice, fits nice, and hurt my flat feet. Not just my feet but my calves and my knees. I think it is a shame because, otherwise, I really like these shoes. I'm guessing that if I bought some expensive orthotics it would cushion my flat feet and the shoes would then be more comfortable. But, that's just a guess.Had I known that the shoe runs on the large side I would’ve backed it down but sometimes you just Gotta try it out and get the right size on the second time! What I love is the extra wide and extra extra wide sizing available & they automatically include inserts to help someone with one leg shorter than the other—returns are fast and easy! Great shoe for 95 yo father needing something other than a tennis shoe with a Velcro strap that opens up to insert swollen feet with design. Comfortable, soft material exterior & nice cushion inside.Great shoes. They fit like slippers. Very very comfortable. If you have problem feet (speaking from experience, i have very wide feet with arthritis, bunions, pain in big toe from an injury, and plantar fasciitis), the shoes you are in can make all the world of difference, and out of all the shoes i have worn, these can't be beat. They are the most comfortable shoes i ever had. I love them so much, I bought a second pair! You don't want to drop any heavy objects on the toe areas but that's pretty much the same with any soft shoes short of ones with steel toes. While they are not waterproof if they get wet they do dry fine. Very happy with them.I did not give these shoes 5 stars because of the quality or looks but rather, because it is a shoe that is actually roomy enough and is not stiff (like leather would be). I wear a size 14 6e which is difficult enough to find. Throw in a couple of hammertoes, nerve damage, and some swelling and you have an ugly situation. This shoe with the polypropylene material up front is very roomy and flexible. Has plenty of toe box height which is important. In the last couple of months I've tried quite a few shoes and was about to give up the search. I don't usually consider myself a lucky person, but luck was definitely with me when I stumbled on to the Orthofeet Bismarck. My husband has two strokes last year, which seem to intensifies his diabetic foot pain. He was having to wear slippers all the time, couldn't wear his regular shoes for more than 30 minuets, Our Podiatrist recommended these shoes, said to try them before we has $300 custom shoes made. I got them in a wide in case of swelling, they are a perfect fit. He had been able to wear them for over 8 hours without discomfort. They look good cleans up with a damp cloth, holds their shape. A great pair of shoes.
